Abstract

The Ferrite compositions of La substituted Mg0.5Zn0.5LaxFe2-xO4 (x=0.0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1) are prepared using sol-gel citrate-nitrate. The as prepared powders are annealed at 600˚ c to improve structural and magnetic properties. The thermal behavior of ferrite from its gel is studied by using DSC and the structural and morphological studies of the ferrites have been investigated by using XRD, SEM-EDAX and FAR-IR respectively. The magnetic properties of the samples are studied using VSM at room temperatures. The samples are found to exhibit saturation magnetization. Lanthanum doped Mg-Zn ferrites are found to exhibit large relaxation which make them useful for microwave applications.
